Roderick Galea

Roderick graduated with a Bachelor of Accountancy from the University of Malta in 2004, laying the foundation for his professional expertise. The following year, he met Nathaniel Borg, and they developed a strong friendship that would later form the foundation of their business partnership.

From 2005 to 2016, Roderick built extensive experience in accounting practice as a self-employed Certified Public Accountant and Financial Controller. During this period, he served 13 years in the hospitality industry, where he developed comprehensive competencies in maintaining financial records, budget management, risk assessment, and business strategy. Throughout these years, he also mentored Nathaniel, sharing expertise and professional guidance that proved invaluable.

When Nathaniel joined Deloitte in 2016, their professional worlds connected once again – Roderick was already a client at the firm. This intersection marked the beginning of their formal professional collaboration, and they started providing accounting and auditing services together independently.

In 2017, Roderick and Nathaniel founded Borg Galea & Associates as a two-person practice with just one part-time employee. What began in a small office has grown remarkably: they moved to Centris Business Gateway in 2021, and in 2024, they relocated to their flagship premises – an entire floor that previously housed Bank of Valletta, fully refurbished into a modern office that reflects their professional standards.

As Co-Founder and Accounting Director, Roderick leads the accounting department and personally manages complex financial reporting and advisory cases. He ensures the firm delivers excellence through operational leadership, direct client relationships, and seamless service delivery across all departments. His focus on operations means he's constantly moving around the teams, assisting anyone who's stuck and ensuring everyone stays synchronised – like maintaining a wheel where every spoke needs to work together.

Today, with the firm serving over 1,000 clients and employing more than 100 professionals across Malta and Canada, Roderick continues to embody the values that built the company: honesty, personal relationships, and a genuine commitment to client success.
