Nathaniel Borg

Nathaniel met Roderick Galea in 2005, beginning a 20-year friendship built on mutual respect and shared professional values. When they met, Nathaniel was still a student and Roderick was already a qualified accountant. Even though they weren't working together and Roderick had no obligation to help, he would spend hours explaining payroll processes and VAT implications – guidance that would prove invaluable for Nathaniel's career.

In 2010, Nathaniel completed his Diploma in General Studies, Accounting and Business Management at the University of Malta, building a comprehensive understanding of business operations and financial management. Four years later, in 2014, ACCA awarded him the title of Chartered Accountant, establishing his credentials as a qualified professional.

Nathaniel then joined Deloitte, one of the Big 4 audit firms, where he specialised in financial services. At Deloitte, he managed audit teams for major Maltese companies and gained valuable international experience through a secondment in the United Kingdom, working on global banks and insurance firms. It was during this time that his professional path intersected with Roderick's once again – Roderick was already a client at the firm.

In 2017, Nathaniel and Roderick founded Borg Galea & Associates as a two-person practice, driven by a shared vision to deliver exceptional accounting and advisory services with a personalised touch that was lacking in the industry. Two years later, in 2019, Nathaniel earned his Master of Business Administration from the University of Birmingham, further enhancing the firm's strategic capabilities.

As Co-Founder and Audit Director, Nathaniel heads the audit practice, oversees the tax department and international taxation matters, and focuses on the firm's strategic direction. He drives international expansion, embraces emerging technologies, and anticipates regulatory changes to ensure the firm stays several steps ahead of industry developments. With the firm now operating across three continents, Nathaniel brings exposure to different approaches – especially from North America – that help anticipate technological trends.
